Is HolidayDraw free?
Yes. Create a one-time gift exchange for free or create a free organizer account to save groups. Participants do not need accounts to receive a name or share their gift wishes.
How does the Secret Santa name generator work?
Add 2–100 people, choose your occasion, and set a gift limit in US dollars. After you verify your organizer email and review the group, HolidayDraw randomly assigns each person one recipient. Everyone gives once, receives once, and never draws themselves. Each assignment is sent in a private email.
Can couples avoid drawing each other?
Yes. Pair significant others during setup and turn on the option to keep partners from drawing each other. This requires at least four participants. Each person can have one partner; arbitrary exclusion lists and previous-year exclusions are not supported.
Can I import names from Excel?
Yes. Import an .xlsx file with names, email addresses, and an optional partner email column. Review the preview before choosing Replace my list. The workbook is read in your browser, and imported details stay editable before you send the draw.
Are the assignments secret, including from the organizer?
Each participant sees their own assigned recipient, not the full draw. The organizer can optionally request a master list sent only to their verified email address, so organizer access to all assignments is possible. Personal gift links should be kept private.
What if someone loses their email?
The organizer can resend the original assignment from the group page without drawing names again. A free organizer account keeps saved groups accessible. Guest gift forms expire 90 days after creation or 30 days after the exchange date, whichever is later; the guest organizer browser session lasts 24 hours.
